The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded Democracy International a $4.5 million task order under the Elections and Political Processes IQC to support the upcoming legislative and municipal elections in El Salvador. DI will provide technical assistance and training to the Supreme Election Tribunal (TSE) and political parties and civil society organizations before, during, and after the 2012 legislative and municipal elections. DI’s program will assist the tribunal and other stakeholders to successfully implement and comprehend recently adopted electoral reforms. DI will initiate its program by opening an office in San Salvador in October 2011.
