Will Covey, Program Officer

Will Covey is a Program Officer at Democracy International, where he supports DI field-based programs. In 2010-11, as Deputy Director of Operations at Democracy International/Afghanistan, he provided operational and logistical support to DI’s expatriate staff and managed DI’s permanent office in Afghanistan. During 2009, he served as Logistics Coordinator based in Kabul for DI’s Afghanistan Election Monitoring Program. Mr. Covey worked at the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) from 2004 to 2006. He served as an Operations Associate for IFES in Baghdad, Iraq in 2006 and also assisted on the Iraq and Afghan out-of-country voting programs. Previously, he worked for the Advocacy Project on efforts to strengthen women’s and other civil society groups in Eastern Europe and Afghanistan. Mr. Covey received an M.A. in International Relations and Conflict Management at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 2009, and he also has a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University. He speaks German.
